What are the differences between CC BY and CC BY NC ND licences?

  • CC BY - Creative Commons Attribution licence

Readers can share and adapt your article for any purpose, including commercially, as long as the authors are credited.

  • CC BY-NC-ND - Creative Commons Attribution, Non-Commercial, No Derivatives licence

Your article can be shared for non-commercial purposes as long as the authors are credited. Permission from Springer Nature is needed for commercial re-use or sharing adapted and derivative versions.

CC BY and CC BY-NC-ND licences provide permissions for sharing open access content.

Both CC BY and CC BY-NC-ND licences require that the original author and version is credited. There are differences in what users can do with your work depending on the licence you have published under.
