Get MARC records for your library’s newly licensed Journal or eBook collections, packages, or single titles. You can use these records to add the content to your library catalogue and other systems.
Understand what you have licensed
Before you start, check your licence agreement, invoice, or discussion with your Licensing Manager. Confirm which collections, packages, or single titles you have licensed, and which copyright years are included. Select and download MARC records
- Go to the MARC page in the Librarian Portal and select Books or Journals.
- Find and select the business model you have licensed.
- Under “Choose filters and format”, select the copyright years you have licensed.
- Under “Modified date and record status”, select “Custom dates”. Enter the start date of your contract.
- Check the text next to the Download button. If it says “We couldn’t find any titles”, check that you have selected the correct business models and copyright years.
- Download your MARC records.
You can also click Bookmark and save the generated link. This lets you quickly download updated records later, including records for titles that are published after your first download.
Why enter your contract start date?
This helps you avoid downloading records for journals and books that are not part of your entitlement. For example, a book may have been included in a business model for a copyright year, but later been removed because Springer Nature’s agreement with a third-party publisher ended.
In that case, we can no longer license the book. Your library has not paid a licensing fee for these books. Internally, they are sometimes referred to as “Springer Nature Link Hosting Only” (SLHO).
